Every time the ducks go 'over the hills and far away' one of them fails to return. The clue is in the fox's tail poking cheekily into the corner of each spread. Ian Beck's illustrations are always reassuring, and luckily the last duck has more sense than all the rest put together. He manages to save himself and all the others as well.
